BEN FRANKLIN-PLOT SAMPLE

 

Having met him in France long ago, a bright but forgetful, old artist, creates a time machine to go back through the years to find Benjamin Franklin.  He, and some children he picks up when his machine breaks down in a school, begin their long time- traveling adventure, and along the way, witness scenes from Ben’s childhood, his youth, his courting days with Deborah, and time spent with his children.  

 

As they are about to give up on ever meeting the accomplished, adult Ben, he comes down through the audience, as he reviews the Declaration of Independence for Thomas Jefferson.  The children are amazed, and share many original ideals and inventions from both time periods.. After they have parted, and on their way back home, they get glimpses of other famous Americans who impacted the course of our country.  Eventually, they must come back to school so they can say their good-byes to their time-traveling captain.  But many truths and surprises unfold throughout their journey, from start to finish.
